The presenter admitted he has people in his life who are ‘dead to him’
Eamonn Holmes let fans in on his personal relationships in a conversation on GB news before announcing his split from Ruth Langsford.
During a chat with co-host Isabel Webster, they reminisced about past disagreements.
Isabel brought up Eamonn’s patched-up relationship with former colleague Anthea Turner during a chat about Shakira’s fiery new YouTube song.
Isabel asked viewers, “What are your thoughts on the topics we’re covering?” Eamonn chimed in, eager for gossip: “We’re particularly interested in revenge stories. Is revenge good or bad?”
Isabel called him out, stating, “You talk a good game about this. You do. But actually, all the people in your life that you’ve had disputes with in the past, you’re on great terms with now when I think about it?.”
Eamonn simply retorted, “No,” leading Isabel to counter, “No? Mostly,” reports the Mirror. That’s when Eamonn questioned, “What like Anthea Turner?,” as Isabel affirmed, “Yeah,” and humorously referred to her as “Princess Tippy Toes.”
Eamonn then bragged about his forgiving nature, “Prepared to forgive and forget,” prompting Isabel to commend his skill at resolving conflicts. “You’re quite good at it.”
However, Eamonn hinted at darker feuds on GB News, ominously saying, “No, but there are other people who have got names who are dead to me whose names I can’t..’”. Isabel swiftly interrupted him, cautioning, “Let’s not go there.”
Eamonn Holmes candidly reflected on the perils of fame, remarking, “Once you cross…there are evil people. There are evil people in the world and in the battle between good or evil, which I am good. The only sort of enemy you want is a defeated enemy.”
The telly veteran also revisited past tensions with former colleague Anthea Turner, who left GMTV abruptly, leading to a notorious spat where Eamonn famously dubbed her “Princess Tippy Toes” and she retorted by calling out his “rude” behaviour.
In a surprising twist, it emerged last weekend that Eamonn and his long-time partner Ruth Langsford are parting ways after 14 years of marriage.
Making an emotional comeback on GB News this Tuesday, Eamonn shared heartfelt words about the split: “Just before we move on we’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he told viewers, acknowledging the public’s kindness during this challenging time.
