Journalist Chris Ship explained on the day: “Prince Harry hand picked several flowers yesterday from their private garden at Kensington Palace to add to the bespoke bridal bouquet designed by florist Philippa Craddock.”

And he did it all on the night before his wedding, when most grooms would be in the pub or would be experiencing pre-wedding jitters.

Ms Craddock was also behind the arrangement in the chapel, which includes white garden roses, foxgloves and peonies, with branches of beech, birch and hornbeam.

Teams worked through the night to arrange an arch of white roses, peonies and foliage around the West Door and steps of the chapel.

Inside the venue, the garlands matched the flowers which twined around the organ.
