Prince Harry’s romantic gesture to Meghan gave people a small insight into the sort of relationship, and marriage, the pair have forged.
A little glimmer into the personal relationship Prince Harry and Meghan had before they officially married was laid bare by a romantic act.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding day was one to remember, their ‘fairytale’ nuptials took place on May 19, 2018, in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and were watched by millions worldwide.
Prince Harry was determined his bride would have the best day of her life and carried out a sweet gesture just hours before his wedding.
Meghan’s bridal bouquet – which paid a touching tribute to Princess Diana with Forget-Me-Nots, her favourite flower – was designed by self-taught florist Philippa Craddock.
According to Kensington Palace, the Forget-Me-Nots were used intentionally to honour Princess Diana’s memory on the royal couple’s wedding day.
The night before the wedding Harry hand picked flowers from Kensington Palace before heading to Windsor ahead of the big day.
He then gave the blooms to Ms Craddock to be added to her bespoke bridal bouquet. Journalist Chris Ship explained on the day: “Prince Harry hand picked several flowers yesterday from their private garden at Kensington Palace to add to the bespoke bridal bouquet designed by florist Philippa Craddock.”
And he did it all on the night before his wedding, when most grooms would be in the pub or would be experiencing pre-wedding jitters.
Ms Craddock was also behind the arrangement in the chapel, which includes white garden roses, foxgloves and peonies, with branches of beech, birch and hornbeam.
Teams worked through the night to arrange an arch of white roses, peonies and foliage around the West Door and steps of the chapel.
Inside the venue, the garlands matched the flowers which twined around the organ.
