The sussexes have had a trajectory that’s been almost completely downhill since they’ve arrived in the United States after the initial excitement of having them.

And that is owing largely to the fact that, uh, they’re, they’re self-promoting, and they did exactly what the the late beloved Queen, asked them not to do, which was to monetize their connections to Harry’s family.

And it’s easy to understand why.

Because that the most interesting thing about this couple.

There was great excitement, and I may point out, as there was initially in the Uk, this was, you know, our chance at actually having, uh, uh, some royalty in the United States, where, um people, I might add, don’t necessarily really grasp what royalty is all about.

There was really a lot, uh, with their glamour, with their Hollywood friends and, of course, with the, the, the Kingpin of it all, with Harry’s Royal connections, and um, his, his Birthright, Harry and Megan were really Untouchable.

They could do no harm.

They were, you know, this, uh, really A-list, even among Hollywood circles.

Couple, uh, who had something that even Us Dollars couldn’t buy because we don’t have titles over here.

So that that was something so special.

And then, you know it, it all started to change through so so many factors.

And then you have Executives in Hollywood calling them I, this is a family program, so I won’t use the word.

But, uh, exploitive grifters.

Now that just broadcast everywhere and social media created hashtags calling them, you know Haran, Megan or grifters, and you know what.

What a terrible label to have, uh, grifters is.

So at the other end of the spectrum from, you know a member of the royal family.

It’s, it’s unbelievable, but that grifter comment may stay with them forever.

Uh, they’re now the butt of Hollywood.

Jokes by Comedians and cartoons who everyone has their number, which is that you know they’re Wingers, complainers, Hypocrites.

All of this.

And, uh, I, quite frankly, David, I don’t know how they can recover from that.

There’s been polling that gives better demographic data, but I I have to say that 70,000 people signing a petition that they felt Prince Harry should not be the recipient of this award.

And what this award was about?

It’s celebrating a a hero, um, who gave up a very lucrative career in playing professional football, uh, and went over to support his country in the war in Afghanistan and very sadly lost his life, and not even on the battlefield, but through Friendly Fire, which makes it all the more tragic.

So, you know, there he is upholding all of the values of heroism and patriotism and everything else.

And um, I think people don’t simply don’t associate that with Prince Harry, who, stepped away from his duty in Royal Service in his country, fled here, uh, to, uh self-promote with his wife and to do everything that the late beloved Queen had asked him not to do.

So.

Uh, not to mention that, um, he’s Harry has gotten involved, as is his wife, in divisive issues, divisive political issues in the United States, uh, which makes him, you know, not um, well-received in all quarters.

So I can understand how, uh Pat Tilman, the hero who was killed in Afghanistan, how his mother might object calling Harry a divisive figure, because a lot of us see him as that.

And isn’t it a pity, you know that the king hasn’t been able to see his his California side grandchildren for so long?

Um, you know there that and that, you know, speaks to not just Family Values but but family integrity.

And um, so you know, Harry and Megan are perhaps at one time they would have liked to portray themselves as you know this, this model, uh, A-list American couple.

But you know, their constant mission to do in Harry’s family definitely does not sit well with Americans, because many of us, uh, are very admiring of the royal family and the role that they, uh, perform in British Society and um, and it’s very unseemly to Air’s dirty laundry in public, no matter if you British or American, and the unforgivable things that that Harry brought out in his biography.

You know, calling uh, Camila wicked stepmother and saying unkind things about Kate and all of those things.

And you know the the fight that he had with William where he fell and broke the necklace.

I mean th this is just eye rolling stuff that is so, uh, eye rolling and not not, you know, dignified for a member of the royal family or even a former member of the royal family.

So it it’s no wonder that, uh, people have gone off them on both sides of the Atlantic.

They’re part of the Hollywood scene where, as, as I’m sure you know, um, the Academy Awards have become a big wingfest, uh, against establishment politics, and you know definitely when, When Donald Trump was in the White House, uh, they, they took every opportunity in Hollywood, as they continually do, to take pot shots at him, so that even Hollywood award shows were, as as you say, lecturing and hectoring, and I think Americans are fed up with that.

Uh, we’d prefer to go to the movies most of us and simply be entertained, rather than having uh messages constantly broadcast to us.

And Harry and Megan are very much part of that uh culture.

Um, so that, unlike the royal family, uh, the working members of the royal family in Britain who show up, who cast a a positive light on others, on the service of others and celebrate their country, Aran Megan always seemed to be complaining about something, and you know America is the land of can do positivity, in theory at least,

And so you know, this is a bad look, I believe, for them and certainly has contributed to uh a dampening down of their popularity.

I think the the uh pandemic was a remarkable time.

Certainly it was a time for reflection and it was a time when, you know, the forces of woke sort of moved in and asserted themselves, and you know now that that’s somewhat behind us.

The pandemic times.

Uh, people, people don’t constantly want to be browbeaten, lectured, hectored at, and Harry and Megan, um has seem not to have taken this on board.

They seem to be tone deaf to this.

That, um, you know the the reason that the Princess of Wales is so beloved and, uh, the the queen before her and, uh, Queen Elizabeth, that is, and the king, and, uh, Prince William and and Camila, by the way, whose birthday it is today, many happy returns of the day to her Majesty the Queen.

All of those members of the royal family are daily casting a positive light and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

And um, you know, when they get involved with Charities they’re doing enormous amounts of good things to raise visibility for those Charities, and they are just, you know, the best kind public servants.

And you know part of the confusion is that in America we don’t have a royal family, we don’t have anyone that sits above politics and can shine a positive light on others, on their country.

And so for Americans that’s a bit harder to understand, because everyone simply sees Harry and Megan, even in their Royal roles, as celebrities, which now, of course, they’ve become, and you know, not even A-list celebrities anymore.
