Dr. Kate Tomas doesn’t want to be in a man’s “shadow.”
Andrew Garfield’s new girlfriend blasted the “misogynistic nature” of the public’s interest in her romance with the Oscar nominee in an interview with the Sunday Times.
“It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man,” Tomas said.
“I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”
The self-proclaimed “professional witch” and “spiritual mentor” — who has been divorced four times — also elaborated on the scrutiny she has faced since dating the “Amazing Spider-Man” star.
“They [the paps] will take maybe 150 pictures, then they choose the four where you look worst,” Tomas, 42, said.
According to the outlet, she further explained on her podcast, “The Friday Emails,” that other women have been particularly cruel online.
“F–king hell, nothing could prepare me for having literally thousands of women telling me I’m ugly, I’m unattractive, I’m less than in every conceivable way,” she said.
Garfield, 40, confirmed his romance with Tomas in April when the two were spotted holding hands during a double date with Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham in Malibu, Calif.
Their outing came two months after the “Hacksaw Ridge” actor was seen packing on the PDA with Sports Illustrated model Olivia Brower.
Garfield was also previously linked to model Alyssa Miller, Emma Stone and Rita Ora.
