Olympic Surfing Host Colin Jost Gains Fame for His Frequent Visits to the Medical Tent, Outlasting Athletes! His Bid to Show Off Surfing Skills Results in Three Broken Toes and Medical Tent Stardom.

Colin Jost’s hosting duties got off to a rough start.

The “Saturday Night Live” star sustained a nasty foot injury after a run-in with a reef while covering the 2024 Paris Olympics from Tahiti, where the surfing competitions are taking place this year.

The funnyman shared a picture of his bandaged and bloodied wounds on Instagram Monday, joking that he has “been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes.”

In the photo, three of Jost’s toes were covered with gauze. Meanwhile. his other exposed toes seemed to have minor cuts on them.

Shortly after arriving on the French Polynesian island, Jost took a dip in the crystal-clear water — yet the experience wasn’t as magical as he planned.

“This might ruin my WikiFeet score but I just arrived in Tahiti for the surfing Olympics and the reef was excited to greet me,” he wrote on Instagram Friday alongside a photo of his torn-up toes.

It’s unclear if he reinjured his feet or if the gauze was recently added to accelerate the healing process.

It’s likely the comedian could have reopened his wounds while doing most of his reporting barefoot.

Jost’s go-to Olympic look has consisted of a navy blazer, festive beach shirts, khaki shorts and, of course, no socks or shoes.

NBC announced in June that Jost, 42, would be covering the surfing competition nearly 10,000 miles away from the other sporting events in Paris.

His wife, Scarlett Johansson, didn’t join him for the games — which she previously said was more like a vacation than a work opportunity.

During a July 8 appearance on “Today,” she and host Savannah Guthrie wondered how the comedian even got the “boondoggle.”

“I’m like, ‘Is this a job? How is this?’ When they announced the Paris Olympics, he immediately found out that they were doing the surf competition in Tahiti, which is so cool,” Johansson said, noting that her husband “loves to surf.”

“Somehow the dream became a reality and now he’s going to be in Tahiti for two weeks. I’m like ‘poor you,’” the 39-year-old added, mimicking a tear rolling down her face.

The “Black Widow” star said she had been teasing Jost about how lucky he is.

“He’s working — he’s like, ‘Poor me, I’m going to be all over the place.’ I’m like, ‘Are you?’ I think if you can have a piña colada on air while you’re working, that’s not technically work,” the actress joked.

The couple wed in 2020 and welcomed son Cosmo one year later. Johansson is also mom to 9-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

Colin Jost’s eventful journey covering the 2024 Paris Olympics in Tahiti took an unexpected turn as he became acquainted with the island’s reef in a not-so-friendly manner. Despite the picturesque setting and crystal-clear waters, Jost found himself nursing a foot injury that landed him in the Olympic medical tent for some much-needed TLC. The “Saturday Night Live” star humorously shared the aftermath of his reef encounter on social media, showcasing his bandaged toes and minor cuts that served as souvenirs from Tahiti. As Jost continued his reporting duties barefoot, his choice of attire – a navy blazer, beach shirts, and khaki shorts – became his signature Olympic look. While his wife, Scarlett Johansson, opted out of joining him for the “work trip,” she couldn’t help but tease him about the seemingly luxurious assignment in Tahiti. Johansson playfully pointed out that sipping a piña colada on air hardly qualified as work, leaving Jost to defend his reporting efforts amidst the tropical paradise.Despite the challenges of navigating the surf competition nearly 10,000 miles away from the main Olympic events in Paris, Jost embraced the opportunity to combine work and pleasure in Tahiti. Meanwhile, Johansson enjoyed some quality time with their children, including their one-year-old son Cosmo and her daughter Rose Dorothy from a previous marriage. As Jost’s escapades in Tahiti continue to unfold, fans eagerly anticipate more updates on his surfside reporting adventures.
