Surprise! Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus Are Said to Have ‘Scheduled’ Their Dates to Prevent Competing Over Nick Jonas When They Both Liked Him in High School!

15 years after an iconic crossover of three hit Disney Channel shows, details about some drama between Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus has surfaced.

In 2009, Disney Channel aired a crossover of three hit shows: *Wizards of Waverly Place* with Selena Gomez, *Hannah Montana* with Miley Cyrus, and *The Suite Life on Deck* with Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

The special featured Hannah Montana on a teen cruise to a Hawaii concert, which Alex Russo (Gomez) won in an essay contest, and the SS Tipton, where Zack and Cody Martin (Sprouse twins) live.

In one episode of the three-part special, Gomez, 32, and Cyrus, 31, appeared but did not share any scenes together, which was intentional.

Wizards of Waverly Place stars Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle) and David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) took a listener question on their Wizards of Waverly Pod rewatch podcast about the special.

When DeLuise was trying to explain, he caught a look from Stone and told her to ‘spill,’ asking if they didn’t get along during the shoot.

‘They intermittently got along. I mean, come on. It was, like, high school. Like, they both dated Nick (Jonas),’ she said.

She added ‘I think Miley dated him first and then Selena dated him, and then it was it was just messy high school nonsense.’

‘They’re fine now. They’re all good now. But, yeah, it was high school just BS,’ Stone insisted on the podcast.

Cyrus did in fact date Nick Jonas first, from 2006 to 2007, while Gomez and Jonas dated on and off from 2008 to 2010.

Gomez insisted in a 2016 interview with W that she ‘never ‘feuded’ with Cyrus, adding, ‘We both liked the same guy when we were 16.’

Two years later in 2018, Cyrus came to Gomez’s defense when Dolce & Gabbana’s Stefano Gabbana called Gomez, ‘so ugly.’

‘Well what that dick head said (if it’s true) is f***ing false and total bulls**t. She’s fine as f**k!’ Cyrus said in an Instagram comment.

They also reunited in 2020 on Cyrus’ Bright Minded podcast, where Cyrus said they reconnected after a simple gesture: Gomez sending a butterfly emoji through DM.

‘I’m just really happy that we did this new DM. It was very sweet because you just sent a butterfly emoji,” Cyrus said.

‘And that’s enough. Connecting with people and letting them know that you’re there. A butterfly emoji is totally enough,’ she added.

The reunion over Instagram Live also found them both donating to non-profit organizations during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Years after the historic Disney Channel crossover event involving three popular shows, new details have emerged about potential drama between former co-stars Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Back in 2009, Disney Channel brought together *Wizards of Waverly Place* starring Selena Gomez, *Hannah Montana* with Miley Cyrus, and *The Suite Life on Deck* featuring Dylan and Cole Sprouse in a special crossover event. The storyline involved Hannah Montana going on a teen cruise to a concert in Hawaii, a trip that Alex Russo (played by Gomez) won in an essay contest, and the cruise ship SS Tipton where Zack and Cody Martin (played by the Sprouse twins) resided. Interestingly, even though Gomez, now 32, and Cyrus, 31, appeared in the crossover, they did not share any scenes together, which was a deliberate choice. During a recent rewatch podcast of *Wizards of Waverly Place* called Wizards of Waverly Pod, co-stars Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle) and David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) addressed a listener question about the special episode. When DeLuise hinted at potential tension between Gomez and Cyrus, Stone revealed that the two did not always get along during filming. Stone mentioned that the supposed drama stemmed from both actresses dating Nick Jonas at different times, causing typical high school conflicts and misunderstandings. It was later confirmed that Cyrus dated Jonas from 2006 to 2007, while Gomez had an on-and-off relationship with him from 2008 to 2010. However, Gomez clarified in a 2016 interview that there was never a serious feud with Cyrus, highlighting that they were just teenagers liking the same guy. In 2018, Cyrus publicly defended Gomez when a designer called her “ugly,” emphasizing that such comments were untrue and unnecessary. The two stars eventually reconnected in 2020 through a simple gesture on social media – Gomez sent a butterfly emoji to Cyrus via direct message. This small act of kindness led to their reconciliation, as they later collaborated on a podcast and joined forces to support various non-profit organizations during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
