Sydnie Christmas has lifted the lid on the hysterical moment she had with Amanda Holden – when the Britain’s Got Talent judge stripped off in front of her.
The singer, 29, scooped the coveted £250,000 prize on the 2024 season of the competition and will perform at the Royal Variety show later this year after her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
She appeared on ITV’s Loose Women on Friday to talk about her new single and shared some anecdotes from her time filming the show.
Reminiscing on being backstage ahead of one of her performances, Sydnie talked about how her mum supported her – and Amanda, 53, got involved too.
She recalled: ‘She gave me some flowers, she said ”Syd I don’t know what you’re doing, I don’t want to know what you’re doing – just go for it, give it your best shot.”
‘My mum had this top on, Vote Sydnie Christmas. Amanda was like, I want a picture in that, come in here.
‘Mum was like okay, next minute mum’s got her top off in her bra and Amanda’s got her little knickers on and her bra.’
She laughed: ‘My mum was like Syd, look at her lovely bum,’ joking that in the moment she ‘had to agree’.
Following Sydnie’s BGT victory back in June, the singer was forced to defend herself after trolls claimed her win was a ‘total fix’.
Viewers of the ITV show reacted furiously online after discovering that the singer had already enjoyed a career in music.
At the time, Sydnie hit back at the trolls in a furious statement as she took to Instagram to celebrate her win and block out the haters.
She wrote: ‘Righty then…For the trolls. It’s heartbreaking to see. But listen up. You don’t know me or the fierce back bone I have, I owe that to my supportive family and friends.
‘I’ve been dealing with judgement in this industry all my life. So listen up. YOU CANNOT TOUCH US.
‘Because of MY AMAZING FRIENDS, FAMILY AND EVERY SUPPORTER OF MINE. you simply cannot touch us. Just love here, always has been.
‘I hand on heart wish you keyboard warriors happiness. Its hard seeing people so angry. LOVE overpowers all.’
Amanda also threw her support behind the budding star, telling MailOnline: ‘Sydnie is undoubtedly a star.
‘I’ve been doing this show for 17 years now, and I’ve been stopped by more BGT fans this series than ever before about our Sydnie Christmas.
‘I know she’s destined for big things. She’s my golden girl and I can’t wait to have front row seats to whatever is next for her. And as our girl would say… Let’s have it! Come on!’
And it seems that Amanda has a secret skill of her own, after leaving her Heart FM listeners baffled when she unveiled a unique hidden talent during her radio show on Thursday.
During the breakfast programme, the presenter decided to gurgle her way through a rendition of Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man.
The bizarre moment even made it to the Heart FM social media accounts, posted to Instagram with the caption: ‘A woman of many talents @noholdenback.’
Amanda’s co-star Jamie Theakston burst into hysterical laughter and said: ‘Wow, you don’t get this anywhere else folks’.
